The publisher of record, the limits of what these pages are, and the rules for using them, stated without a company name because there is none to state.
This page states the publishing facts of the site and the terms on which its pages may be used, in the same plain words as the rest of the magazine. It is written to be read rather than to be scrolled past, and it is deliberately short: a site with one author, no commerce and no collected data does not need a contract, it needs a clear statement.
Who publishes this site
The publisher is The Carolina Rottweiler desk, writing at ncrottierescue.net, reachable only by mail at contact@ncrottierescue.net. The desk is an editorial signature, not a registered company: the site sells nothing, charges nothing and collects nothing, and no postal address exists to publish. What sits behind the signature, how sources are chosen and how pages are corrected, is described in about this magazine, and the working rules are written out in editorial standards.
What the content is, and what it is not
Everything on this site is journalism about public documents: statutes, registry requirements, breed standards and studies published in open access. A page that summarizes the dangerous dog article of the North Carolina General Statutes is commentary on that article, and reading it is not a consultation with a lawyer; a page that explains what a screening examination measures is background for a conversation with a veterinarian, and it is not that examination; a page that quotes a study’s figures is reporting the study, and it is not veterinary advice about any particular dog. Decisions about a real animal or a real household belong with the professionals who can see both. What these pages promise instead is that every claim can be checked in the document it names, and that a reader who finds a wrong line can set the correction procedure of the contact page in motion.
Trademarks, organizations and non affiliation
The names of the American Kennel Club, the Federation Cynologique Internationale, the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, the American Rottweiler Club and of journals, shelters and public bodies appear on these pages only as the publishers of documents this magazine reads and cites. No such organization sponsors, approves, reviews or is affiliated with this site, and the use of a name or mark to identify the source of a document is nominative use in the ordinary sense: the citation names the thing cited. Placement organizations of the region are deliberately not named, endorsed or judged anywhere on the site.
Using and quoting these pages
Copyright in the site’s own text and tables belongs to the publisher named above. A short quotation with a visible link back is welcome without permission, and the conditions for longer reuse, a table, a section or an illustration, are described on the contact page, which asks only that the dates and sample sizes travel with whatever is copied. The commercial side has its own written rules in advance: sponsored content states what a payment could and could never buy here, and privacy and data states the equally short list of what the site keeps, which is the mail a reader chooses to send and nothing else.
